Synopsis

The Bourne Supremacy is an American-German action thriller film that continues the story of Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne character. Though it takes the name of the second Bourne novel, its plot is entirely different. Bourne, a former CIA assassin, is still suffering from psychogenic amnesia and now living in India when he is framed by Russian agent Kirill (Karl Urban) for the theft of millions from the CIA. Kirill begins to pursue Bourne, intending to assassinate him -- but while Bourne and his girlfriend, Marie (Franka Potente), are on the run, a shot meant for him kills her instead. Vowing revenge, Bourne sets out to prove his innocence and bring the culprits to justice, but he has to evade CIA head Pamela Landry (Joan Allen), who is convinced he is guilty. The film focuses on his attempt to learn more of his past as he is once more enveloped in a conspiracy involving the CIA and Operation Treadstone.

In this follow up film, Bourne recovers some of his memory loss through violent flashbacks... (i.e. he remembers killing some people). This could be a trigger for most people suffering from PTSD.  For me personally, it put me on edge as the flashbacks depicted in the film are intrusive and very realistic... they made me shiver more than once.

There is non-stop action, lots of fight scenes and car chases in the film and this could be a trigger for anyone that has had a car accident... I believe it would be ok for military/Veterans, Clinicians, childhood trauma survivors, sexual assault survivors, friends and families.

Although I found that there were a lot of trigger moments (being a PTSD sufferer) I was drawn to watch the film... I wanted to experience the adrenaline rush and the fear that the film portrays.

Bourne also has to deal with the reality that, through brainwashing, he had been programmed to kill people and he was devastated to learn this about himself.
